If Jim as well as Sasha Allen were able to make it on The Voice Live Shows, they set records because Sasha was the first transgender person in the NBC reality show to get past The Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons. Now the duo of Newtown, Conn., has taken it even a step further into the Top 8! Sasha declared that he's transgender and was featured in the Blind Auditions package. He said to Parade.com that it was a long process to come up with the idea. Sasha changed his gender in high school, and stated that it was difficult to share such the vulnerability of his character in front of so many individuals. This past week, during fans week, witnessing the people's support and their reactions and the way that affected people showed it was worth the effort. The Voice wasn't even around at the time we performed this track. It was an amazing surprise. The track was something we already knew, and we had many ideas to arrange.
