Maria's highly successful journalism profession suggests she was born for the field. Maria, as a girl wasn't sure about the career path she wanted to pursue. At one point she wanted to sing, and then the next day, an interior designer. But when she discovered the joy journalism had to offer there was no looking back. Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn was born in America. She has worked professionally for 27 years. Since the age of 27 she has performed as a professionally active thespian. She first made an appearance on stage during an off-Broadway production called The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in the year 1990. She was then cast for her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, she received her first big break after being cast in the movie Basic Instinct as a minor character. The Firm marked her first part as a female lead actress, opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, she collaborated with several famous actors from the industry, such as Gwyneth Palow for Sliding Door Hugh Grant Mickey Blue Eyes Julie Andrews Relative Values. Recenty, she played Dr Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
