Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born on 25th August 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also worked at several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has studied the Italian food and culture, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. After obtaining an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the industry of restaurants by registering at The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full time in Italy attending Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she grew to truly comprehend and appreciate the philosophies behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary point of view. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to increase living conditions for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of children's diabetes. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as speakers and mentors. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate in that she could share her true passion with others.
